LAST REFUGE CABRIO ROADSTER

The next step in the evolution of the 28, 29 Ford Styled Roadster Pickup Body. The all steel Cabrio Roadster with manual rollup side windows is ready to add a little comfort to the traditional Hot Rod experience. By adding the rollup window option, you may now have a heater or even air-conditioning in a Vintage styled roadster.

After hearing from several customers inquiring about roll up windows, we asked ourselves why not? What we didn’t want was to reproduce the original Cabrio with its chunky windshield frame and Sedan like A pillar.

We decided to keep the roadster look and go with a light V windshield and Cast Aluminum posts. This was the method of choice for the high-end classics of the 20’s and 30’s. Auburn, Bugatti and Duesenberg. We strove for a look that was both attractive and functional.

Our standard door is stretched an additional 3 inches to make room for the tracks, and latches without having to compromise on the side visibility and elbowroom. Stretching the door has the added benefit of making a roomy cab even more comfortable. The distance from the dash to the cab back is now 42 ½ inches!

The door glass is securely mounted in a rugged aluminum frame that glides in a fully felted channel. This construction minimizes the shock to the glass if you happen to close the door too hard. The standard Ford type regulator is used for ease of replacement and availability. The Glass disappears from view when down so that people may not even know its there!

The windshield is an attractive V style windshield reminiscent of the Hallock or Duval type windshield. A straight glass windshield would have been positioned too far back of the Dash plane to be comfortable. This windshield is available pre-fitted or as a kit. Our standard Top Kit has been stretched accordingly and features a matching V shaped front Bow.
